My Personal Collection: Rap/R&B Edition

The good old Rhythm and Blues, a generational upbringing for many world famous artists. I really wish I could do an A-Z on this genre, and maybe someday I will but for now let's just have a look at my few must listens on this list.

Cardi B - my woman, my love. As a female I love to see strong women making themselves in an industry that is male-orientated and although there are many woman who have successfully come before Cardi, I want to recognise that this is her time, this is her generation to lead now.

From MC's to rap-stars I believe Elliot Gleave of Example has seen and been it all. Inspiring, honest and wholesome - he has truly reinvented himself throughout lockdown 2020, he is a friendly character who is whole-heartedly there for his fans and he has certainly shown that this past year... as-well as dropping a banger of an album into the mix at the same time! The man has never received an award and if I've said it once, I've said it a million times LET'S GET THIS LEGEND AN AWARD.

Talking about legend's let's take a moment to thank 50 Cent, Pitbull, Kanye and Eminem for all they have done over the years, hit after hit that we have enjoyed. When it comes to original though, who else misses The Black Eyed Peas with Fergie? They just haven't been the same since. Nonetheless, they remain remarkable in the world of R'n'B and I have yet to see a group compare to them (although I will look forward to the day that comes).

Our newcomer Aitch has certainly made a crash landing in the rap world. Two solo albums and numerous feature singles with other established artists, he is doing well for himself and definitely one I'd recommend keeping an eye on. Lucidious and NF although are not new to the scene and have both gathered an outstanding fanbase over the years, have definitely become more recognised and appreciated as of recent and I for one (as a long standing fan) am so glad to be here for it!
